Water sports

On and in the sea all kinds of water sports are possible. Not only snorkelling and sailing, but also scuba diving and paddle surfing.

Scuba diving and snorkelling

The Mediterranean is blue, so very blue, and that also means the underwater world is easy to see. With a snorkel you can already spot plenty of different fish. If you already hold a PADI certificate you can sign on in Moraira; just ask for Jim. And if you would like to learn to handle diving tanks, you can take a PADI course during your holiday. The sea is less than 30 minutes from our house by car.

With the sea a 30-minute drive away, it is easy to make the most of the water sports on offer. Many companies run a wide range of activities.

Paddle surfing, or SUP, is a popular water sport. It started in Hawaii. Standing on a wide board, you move along with a long paddle and can cover quite a distance, which makes the many small beaches easy to reach.

The kayak trip we recommend starts on the north side of Dénia. Usually you set off with a small group towards Jávea, heading for an old quarry in the rock face. The historic village of Jávea was largely built with the stone cut here. During this stop you can use your snorkel to see beautiful fish in crystal clear blue water.

At several marinas you can hire small sailing boats or, with a licence, a motorboat. And on a jet ski you can of course race along the coast.
